Central Jakarta Mayor Instructs Sub-districts to Optimise Satlinmas Role

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Central Jakarta Mayor Arifin has instructed sub-district and urban village officials to optimise the role of the Community Protection Unit (Satlinmas) in supporting government operations.

The instruction was delivered by Arifin during the opening of a Human Resources (HR) Capacity Building and Guidance event for the DKI Jakarta Satlinmas at the Central Jakarta Administrative Mayor’s Office on Wednesday.

‘Actively involve them in governmental and community activities,’ Arifin said.

According to him, enhancing the HR capacity of Satlinmas aims to strengthen the role, activeness, and existence of members at the urban village level so they can perform their duties optimally within the community.

Furthermore, he requested the optimisation of Satlinmas’ role to maintain public peace and order, as well as to increase preparedness for emergencies and disasters.

He affirmed that the Central Jakarta City Government is committed to continuously encouraging all sub-districts and urban villages to empower Satlinmas as a strategic government partner in the region.

Arifin assessed that Satlinmas holds a crucial position because its members are part of the community and interact directly with residents in daily life.

Therefore, he said, the existence of a trained, disciplined, and responsive Satlinmas must be continuously strengthened through sustainable guidance, cross-sector coordination, and support from all regional apparatus.

He expressed hope that the guidance activity would enhance the capacity of Satlinmas members, enabling them to become a humane and professional front line in providing protection to the community.

‘Make this service a source of pride. Prove that Central Jakarta Satlinmas is a solid force because of its discipline, respected because of its morals, and loved because of its ethics,’ he stated.

Arifin added that strengthening Satlinmas’ capacity is also part of efforts to enhance regional preparedness and strengthen community protection at the urban village level.

The HR capacity building and guidance activity was attended by 260 Satlinmas members serving across eight sub-districts within the Central Jakarta Administrative City area.

‘This activity is an important part of efforts to strengthen regional preparedness and improve the quality of community protection at the urban village level,’ Arifin said.
