Central Jakarta Government Distributes 48 Fisheries Aid Packages Across Eight Districts
The Central Jakarta city government distributed 48 packages of fisheries cultivation aid to recipients from various sectors across eight districts on Friday. Central Jakarta Mayor Arifin handed over the assistance to recipients including community health centres, urban villages, schools, and neighbourhood and community unit administrators. “We continue to encourage cross-sector collaboration to achieve food self-sufficiency, including the development of fish farming within government agencies, schools, child-friendly integrated public spaces, and community institutions,” Arifin said. He stated that the distribution of fisheries cultivation aid represents the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment to supporting the community in developing fish farming as a source of nutritious food, education, and community empowerment. Arifin expressed hope that the distributed aid would be utilised optimally, maintained properly, and provide sustainable benefits for the surrounding environment. Meanwhile, Head of the Central Jakarta Food Security, Marine, and Agriculture Sub-agency, Siti Halimah, said the aid distributed includes fibreglass tanks, submersible water pumps, scoop nets, fish seeds, and fish feed. According to her, the aid was given to 48 cross-sector recipients spread across eight districts in Central Jakarta. “Dozens of recipients have written to the Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency to support various activities such as Adiwiyata, urban village competitions, and other cross-sectoral activities,” Siti said.
