Central Jakarta District Court Receives 40 Lawsuits from Online Loan Companies Against KPPU Decision
JAKARTA - The Commercial Court at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakpus) states that it has received more than 40 lawsuits filed by online loan (Pinjol) companies against the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU).
Spokesperson for PN Jakpus Andi Saputra said that the approximately 40 lawsuits concern objections to KPPU Decision No. 05/KPPU-I/2025.
“Filed by technology-based financial service companies (fintech Peer-to-Peer Lending/online loans) against the KPPU Decision,” said Andi in his statement on Friday (10/4/2026).
Andi said that the applicants began registering their lawsuits on Thursday (9/4/2026).
Due to the large number of objection applications submitted, the registration process continued until late at night.
“It continued until late at night considering the significant number of Objection Applicants accompanied by a substantial volume of application files,” Andi explained.
The Ad Hoc Judge of the Corruption Criminal Court stated that in the KPPU Decision, the Commission Panel declared Respondents I through XCVII guilty of violating Article 5 of Law No. 5 of 1999 on the Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unhealthy Business Competition.
“The core allegation involves an agreement to fix prices (price fixing) for online loan service fees,” he said.
The lawsuits from dozens of online loan companies will be examined within the resolution timeframe as stipulated by Supreme Court Regulation No. 3 of 2021.
“The Central Jakarta District Court is committed to conducting case examinations professionally, transparently, and accountably, to uphold legal certainty in the field of business competition,” said Andi.
