Central Jakarta District Court Conducts Land Verification Ahead of Sultan Hotel Execution; Nine Site Points Measured
The Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakarta Pusat) conducted a verification and land measurement process for the disputed Sultan Hotel property. Nine points were measured during the operation.
“We will conduct a field inspection of the former SHGB 26 and former SHGB 27,” said Central Jakarta District Court Clerk Ahyar Parmika whilst preparing to conduct measurements at the Sultan Hotel on Monday, 16 March 2026.
Faorizal, Head of Survey and Measurement for the Jakarta Pusat National Land Agency (BPN), stated that nine points were measured on the day. The measurements were taken at X HGB 26 and X HGB 27.
“Land verification measurements have been conducted on coordinate points through a verification process, with measurements completed on nine points,” said Faorizal.
The BPN measured the former HGB 27 with a measured area of 83,666 square metres. For the verification of X HG 26, two points were taken and confirmed as matching.
“The two points of the former HGB 26 have been measured with an area of 53,709 square metres. The total area from the two former HGBs 26 and 27 is 137,375 square metres, or approximately 13.7 hectares,” he added.
Ahyar continued, stating his office had received the results of the measurement situation map. He said this would be supplemented with measurement results from the Jakarta Pusat Land Agency.
“This will be handed over to us, as these BPN measurement results form part of the verification implementation official report,” said Ahyar.
Chandra Hamzah, legal representative for PPKGBK from Assegaf Hamzah & Partners, appreciated the Central Jakarta District Court’s step to conduct verification ahead of execution. He hoped the dispute would be resolved quickly.
“We express our appreciation on behalf of the State Secretariat Ministry and PPKGBK to the Court. The Court chair has issued a decision to conduct verification in connection with execution. Let us wait and hope this concludes quickly. This measurement should be completed in a day or two,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Setya Utama, Secretary of the State Secretariat Ministry (Sesmensetneg), stated that the next stage is awaiting leadership direction. For now, the verification process is being completed first.
“The next plan is pending leadership direction, but we are proceeding with the process. So we ask for patience. We will complete the verification first, implementing decision 208 from the Central Jakarta District Court. Then afterwards comes the property evacuation, actual execution, and beyond that we will see. Clearly we have already arranged a plan for it,” he said.
For context, the land control dispute in the Gelora Bung Karno area where the Sultan Hotel stands continues. Both the Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Centre (PPKGBK) representing the State Secretariat Ministry (Kemensetneg) and PT Indobuildco owned by Pontjo Sutowo as the Sultan Hotel manager maintain their respective positions as the lawful manager of the area.
