The Central Jakarta City Government has once again deployed 3emb32 units to spray water mist on several protocol roads and green open spaces as an effort to handle the impact of volcanic ash exposure from Mount Anak Krakatau, on Tuesday.

Prasetyo Kurniawan, Assistant for Government and Administration of Central Jakarta, stated that the spraying is being carried out to provide services to the community while simultaneously maintaining environmental cleanliness and protecting residents’ health from volcanic ash exposure.

“The spraying is focused on protocol road segments, trees, and city parks affected by volcanic ash exposure so that the environment can return to being clean,” said Prasetyo following the briefing for the Volcanic Ash Impact Anticipation Activity of the Anak Krakatau Eruption at Monas Field, Central Jakarta.

Prasetyo noted that the spraying involves 32 units from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Fire and Rescue Sub-department (Gulkarmat), the Parks and Urban Forest Sub-department, and the Environmental Sub-department (LH).

The spraying route begins from the Monas area on the south side of Medan Merdeka, proceeds to Tugu Tani, Jalan MH Thamrin, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, and continues to the Senayan Roundabout or Tugu Pemuda area, before returning to the Monas area.

In addition to the vehicles, the activity involves approximately 150 joint personnel from the National Police, TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces), Satpol PP (Municipal Police), and the Transportation Sub-department to support the execution of spraying on several protocol roads.

Prasetyo said the spraying also targets trees and city parks exposed to volcanic ash so that the material can be cleared from the surrounding environment.

He urged the public to remain calm and not to be anxious in facing the impact of volcanic ash exposure from Mount Anak Krakatau.

Furthermore, he requested that the public follow information developments regarding the volcanic ash condition through the official channels of the Jakarta Provincial Government to obtain accurate information.

“I urge residents not to be restless or anxious in facing the impact of volcanic ash exposure; implement health protocols by wearing masks when engaging in outdoor activities,” he said.

During the activity, the Environmental Sub-department deployed two tank trucks and one water mist vehicle. The Fire and Rescue Sub-department deployed two pump trucks and one smoke truck, while the BPBD deployed three tank trucks.
