Central Jakarta Court Strengthens Mardiono's Leadership as PPP Chairman Following Xth Congress

The legal counsel for the United Development Party (PPP) Central Executive Board, Syifaus Syarif, stated that the Central Jakarta District Court’s ruling on Monday, 3 August, marks a significant moment for the party, coinciding with the month of independence. According to Syarif, the ruling serves as a symbol of the end of various legal disputes that had challenged the leadership of Muhamad Mardiono as Chairman of PPP following the Xth Congress. “Today is a moment of independence and victory for PPP cadres across Indonesia. This ruling provides legal certainty and marks the end of a series of lawsuits filed against the leadership of H. Muhamad Mardiono,” Syarif told the media. Syarif explained that the panel of judges rejected the lawsuit filed by the plaintiffs and ordered them to pay court costs of Rp344,000. He detailed that throughout the process, there had been 14 cases examined, both in the Administrative Court and General Court, all of which have now been resolved. This ruling further strengthens the political and legal legitimacy of Muhamad Mardiono’s leadership. “This signifies that all legal issues regarding the validity of the PPP Chairman’s leadership have been resolved. Now is the time for all cadres to look ahead and focus on growing the party and fighting for the people’s interests,” he said. Syarif added that the spirit of the independence month serves as a reminder that PPP is now free from internal legal dynamics, allowing the party’s energy to be fully directed towards ongoing organisational consolidation and facing future political agendas. “This momentum is independence for PPP to move forward stronger, more solid, and more focused on building the party for the service of the community,” he concluded.
