The Central Jakarta city administration has held a briefing on a subsidised housing programme for civil servants (ASN), government employees with work agreements (PPPK), part-time PPPK, and other individual service workers (PJLP).

Central Jakarta city secretary Denny Ramdany said the free subsidised housing programme is a collaboration with the private sector to help meet the need for decent, safe, comfortable and affordable housing for employees.

“Owning a home, especially in an urban area such as Jakarta, is not easy. Relatively high land and house prices, as well as limited land availability, pose particular challenges for the public, including employees,” Denny said at the Central Jakarta mayor’s office on Wednesday.

Denny said ASN, PPPK, part-time PPPK and PJLP are an important part of government administration and public services, so information that supports improvements in employee welfare should be welcomed.

According to him, owning decent and affordable housing is not only about meeting the need for a place to live, but can also support the welfare of employees and their families in building their future lives.

The subsidised housing programme can be one alternative for employees who meet the requirements to own a home with the support of government financing facilities.

He expressed hope that the briefing would provide clear and complete information to participants about the subsidised housing programme, from requirements and application mechanisms to payment facilities and the rights and obligations of prospective recipients.

“Through this activity, I hope participants obtain clear and complete information about the programme,” he said.
