Central Government Holiday Allowance for Civil Servants Reaches Rp3 Trillion, Purbaya: If Not Requested, Not Yet Disbursed
Jakarta – The Ministry of Finance has commenced disbursement of the 2026 Holiday Allowance (Tunjangan Hari Raya, THR) for civil servants (ASN) across central government institutions.
As of Friday, 6 March 2026 at 4:30 PM WIB, Rp3 trillion has been realised, with the funds transferred to approximately 631,000 employees out of a total of approximately 2.2 million ASN.
According to Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, THR disbursement depends on the application process submitted by each institution. If an institution has not yet submitted a disbursement request, payment cannot proceed. This is linked to the administrative processes of individual ministries and agencies.
“If the institution hasn’t requested it yet, then it hasn’t been disbursed. But since this morning they’ve actually been able to disburse,” Purbaya said at a media gathering at his office, quoted on Monday (9 March 2026).
According to him, some employees may not yet have received or collected their THR because their respective institutions are still processing the disbursement.
“Perhaps most have already been paid out by now. I don’t know if the institution hasn’t requested or hasn’t disbursed yet. But they’ve been able to disburse since this morning,” he said.
He emphasised that the government has prepared the entire THR budget, allowing each ministry and agency to distribute it in stages to their employees.
The government has allocated a budget of Rp55 trillion, representing an increase of approximately 10% compared with the previous year. In 2026, THR will be distributed to 2.4 million central government ASN/military/police personnel supported by state budget allocation of Rp22.2 trillion, 4.3 million regional civil servants through regional budgets totalling Rp20.2 trillion, and 3.8 million pensioners with APBN allocation of Rp12.7 trillion.
