Central Cikarang Police Conduct Night Operation to Curb Street Crime

The Cikarang Central Police Sector, under the Bekasi Metro Police, conducted an intensive street crime operation early Saturday morning to suppress potential criminal activity and maintain public order. The operation, which ran from 1:30 AM local time, focused on areas identified as prone to street crime, specifically in Kampung Tembong Gunung, Sukamahi Village, Cikarang Pusat District.

According to the operation’s commanding officer, the joint patrol involved personnel from the Samapta, Traffic, Community Policing, and Intelligence units. Officers carried out vehicle checks and engaged with motorists using a humanistic approach to prevent crimes such as aggravated theft, violent robbery, motorcycle theft, youth brawls, and illegal street racing.

During the patrol, officers also provided educational appeals to road users, urging them to remain vigilant, obey traffic regulations, wear standardised helmets, and carry complete driving documents. The police reported that the operation concluded without finding any perpetrators, sharp weapons, narcotics, or other dangerous items, and the overall situation in the area remained safe and conducive. Authorities confirmed that similar operations will be intensified consistently as part of the ‘Jaga Jakarta, Jaga Bekasi’ security initiative.
