Central banks meet in S'pore
SINGAPORE (AFP): Central bank governors from around the world were due to meet in Singapore Monday to exchange views on current economic and financial developments, said the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
MAS and the Bank for International Settlements said the one- day closed door informal session follows a similar governors' meeting in Hong Kong in January 1999.
Those taking part in the meeting are: the Reserve Bank of Australia, the People's Bank of China, the European Central Bank, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Reserve Bank of India, Bank Indonesia, Bank Negara Malaysia, the Central Bank of the Philippines, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the South African Reserve Bank, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the banks of Korea, Japan, Sweden, and England.
