The Regent of Central Bangka, Algafry Rahman, has instructed the regional inspectorate to conduct periodic evaluations of all local government organisations (OPD) every three months to strengthen oversight and ensure that governance is carried out in accordance with regulations.

Speaking during a briefing to inspectorate officials in Koba on Tuesday, Algafry said the inspectorate plays a strategic role as the internal watchdog of the regional government, ensuring that all policies and programmes remain within legal boundaries.

“The inspectorate is the gatekeeper for us, so I urge colleagues in the inspectorate to remain committed to carrying out their duties according to existing procedures, and to actively engage with all OPDs,” he said.

He stated that auditors and internal supervisors must operate in line with standard operating procedures and increase their assistance to each OPD, so that potential administrative errors or implementation mistakes can be prevented at an early stage.

According to him, the assistance provided by the inspectorate will give certainty and a sense of security to regional bodies in executing programmes, from the planning stage through to the implementation of development projects.

“So that OPDs feel supervised, protected, and safeguarded by the inspectorate, both in the planning process and the implementation of development in Central Bangka,” he said.

Algafry also called on all OPDs to build more intensive coordination with the inspectorate, particularly in the management and use of state finances, so that all activities remain compliant with statutory regulations.

“Routine evaluations every three months are part of efforts to strengthen accountable, transparent, and deviation-free governance, so that the implementation of development programmes can provide optimal benefits for the community,” he said.
