Koba, Bangka Belitung Islands (ANTARA) - The Central Bangka District Health Office in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province is continuing efforts to increase the coverage of the Free Health Check (CKG) programme, which has only reached 11% of the total population of 209,117 people as of April 2026.

The Head of the Central Bangka Health Office, Zaitun, in Koba on Thursday, stated that this achievement is still far from the national target set at 46%.

Therefore, his side is intensifying various strategic measures to accelerate the increase in coverage of these services.

He explained that one of the efforts being undertaken is to strengthen health promotion to the community, and this step is considered important to increase public awareness of the importance of early detection of health conditions.

He also encourages the implementation of health screenings at the health service facility level, particularly clinics, to facilitate public access to regular health check-up services.

“The efforts we are making are to increase health promotion and screening at the clinic level,” he said.

He will also continue to evaluate the implementation of the programme so that the strategies applied can run more effectively and on target.

The Central Bangka Health Office is also partnering with various stakeholders, including village governments and private health facilities, to expand the reach of the CKG programme to hard-to-reach areas.

Proactive outreach efforts are also being initiated by conducting direct health screening activities to the community through mobile services.

This programme targets vulnerable groups such as the elderly and communities with limited access to health facilities.

He will enhance the capacity of health workers through training and technical assistance so that the implementation of screenings can run optimally in accordance with the established service standards.
