CENTCOM Reports Two US Service Members Killed in Jordan
Washington (ANTARA) - The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has stated that two US service members in Jordan were killed in an Iranian attack on Friday. “On 17 July, two US service members in Jordan were killed in action while US Central Command and partner forces conducted a defence against an Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack,” CENTCOM said in a statement posted on the social media platform X on Saturday, adding that one service member remains missing in action. CENTCOM noted that four US service members were medically evacuated to a hospital in Jordan. They have since been discharged, while other personnel treated for minor injuries have returned to duty. According to data released on Friday by the Defense Casualty Analysis System, a website affiliated with the US Department of Defense, as of 17 July, a total of 14 US service members have been killed and 427 others wounded in military operations against Iran.
