Moscow - The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has declined to provide comment regarding possible involvement of American forces in military operations against Iran, with CENTCOM responding in this manner to a request from RIA Novosti.

“We have no information for you at this time,” CENTCOM’s press service told RIA Novosti in response to inquiries concerning possible US involvement in an attack on Iran and support for Israel in its execution.

Earlier that same day, Israel’s Defence Authority stated that Israel had attacked Iran and declared an emergency status in the country.

Previously on Friday (27 February), Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, acting as the principal mediator, told CBS News that nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran had achieved “substantial progress” towards an achievable agreement.

The statement was made several hours after US President Donald Trump had previously stated he was “not satisfied” with the progress of those negotiations.
