CENTCOM Announces Two US Soldiers Killed in Iranian Missile Attack on Base in Jordan
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that two of its soldiers were killed on Friday (17/7/2026) as a result of an Iranian missile and drone attack on a military base in Jordan. One other soldier is still reported missing. Four US soldiers were also evacuated to a hospital in Jordan and have been relieved of duty. “Other personnel evaluated with minor injuries have returned to duty,” according to an official CENTCOM statement in the early hours of Sunday (19/7/2026) Western Indonesian Time. Out of respect for the families of the victims, CENTCOM will withhold the identities of the soldiers killed and injured until 24 hours after next of kin have been informed.
