Cengceng Sounds Mark Opening of Lovina Festival 2026 in Buleleng
The sound of the cengceng, a traditional musical instrument, marked the opening of the Lovina Festival 2026 at Lovina Beach, Buleleng, on Friday evening (24/7/2026). The instrument was played simultaneously by Buleleng Regent I Nyoman Sutjidra, Deputy Regent Gede Supriatna, representatives from the Bali Provincial Government, and the Ministry of Tourism.
Following the opening ceremony, thousands of visitors were treated to a series of artistic performances. The first night began with a mass Fisherman’s Dance, followed by the Kembang Deeng Dance, the Barong Ket Dance, and performances by music groups New B and The Elevator, culminating in a special appearance by ethnic musician Gus Teja. The first night’s entertainment stage was then closed by DJ Mandy.
In his speech, Buleleng Regent I Nyoman Sutjidra emphasised that the Lovina Festival is not merely a routine event but a stage for regional pride. “Lovina Festival is not just an annual agenda; it has become a stage of pride for Buleleng Regency in showcasing the cultural richness, creativity, and tourism potential of North Bali to the world,” Sutjidra stated.
Sutjidra also called on all tourism stakeholders, from hotel managers, restaurants, and tour guides to local businesses, to continue strengthening collaboration for the sustainable development of Lovina tourism. He noted a new spirit in the 2026 Lovina Festival, namely the collaboration between the Bali Tourism Office and the Banyuwangi Regency Government. According to him, this cross-regional synergy is a strategic step to strengthen Bali’s position as an integrated tourist destination.
Beyond the entertainment stage, the 2026 Lovina Festival involved various community groups, including runners, photographers, practitioners of the sampi gerumbungan tradition, art studios, and musicians from across Buleleng. Carrying the theme ‘Theatre of Dolphins’, the 2026 Lovina Festival is expected not only to provide entertainment for tourists but also to strengthen local cultural identity and deliver a tangible economic impact for the people of Buleleng.
