Celebrating National Transportation Day 2026, MRT Ride Today Costs Only Rp 1

Jakarta – To commemorate National Transportation Day 2026, MRT Jakarta is implementing a special tariff of Rp 1 today, Friday, 24 April 2026, from 05:00 WIB until 24:00 WIB in accordance with MRT Jakarta’s operational hours.

The Director of Operations and Maintenance of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), Mega Tarigan, explained that this Rp 1 tariff applies to all payment methods.

These include electronic money cards from banks, the MyMRTJ application with QRIS and e-wallets, NFC-based QRIS Tap features, and digital payment options such as paylater integrated into the MRT Jakarta application.

“Passengers still need to tap in and tap out at the passenger gates, both when entering and exiting the station,” said Mega in his statement on Friday, 24 April 2026.

He also assured that MRT Jakarta’s services will continue to operate according to operational standards, maintaining reliability, safety, and comfort for users during the implementation of the special tariff.

“Operational readiness is also being carried out to anticipate potential increases in the number of users at all stations and trains,” Mega stated.

He added that this policy is part of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts to encourage the public to switch to public transportation.

In efforts to strengthen Jakarta’s integrated transportation system, this step is seen as aligning with the current trend of increasing MRT Jakarta usage.

For information, in the March 2026 period, the number of MRT Jakarta passengers was recorded at 3,638,751, with an average of 117,379 passengers daily.
