Celebrating Eid Today, Here's the Atmosphere of Eid Prayer at PP Muhammadiyah Office

The Central Leadership (PP) of Muhammadiyah has set Eid al-Fitr on Friday, 20 March 2026. PP Muhammadiyah held the Eid al-Fitr prayer this morning.

Observations by detikcom at the location on Friday (20/3/2026) at 06:30 WIB showed worshippers starting to arrive at the PP Muhammadiyah office in Menteng, Central Jakarta. Several worshippers were seen performing the Eid prayer on the street as the parking area was already full.

The road in front of PP Muhammadiyah was closed. Security personnel and police were seen managing traffic around the location.

The Eid prayer imam at PP Muhammadiyah will be led by Ahmad Maulana Yusuf, the imam of At-Tanwir Mosque at PP Muhammadiyah. Meanwhile, Izza Rohman, a member of the Expert Council of the Tarjih and Tajdid Assembly of PWM DKI Jakarta, will deliver the sermon.

As is known, the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) has conducted the isbat session for determining Eid 2026. The result is that Eid 2026 or 1 Shawwal 1447 H according to the government falls on Saturday, 21 March 2026.

“It was agreed that 1 Shawwal 1447 H falls on Saturday, 21 March 2026,” said Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar in a press conference on the results of the Eid 2026 isbat session, Thursday (19/3).

Based on the isbat session results, it was also agreed that the government’s first day of Eid 2026 falls on Saturday, 21 March 2026, and the second day of Eid on Sunday, 22 March 2026.

Thus, Eid 2026 differs from Muhammadiyah. Muhammadiyah, through the Central Leadership of Muhammadiyah Statement Number 2/MLM/I.0/E/2025 on the Determination of Calculations for Ramadan, Shawwal, and Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 Hijriah, has set Eid 2026 on 20 March.
