CCTV Damaged as Thieves Break into Paborito Coffee in Karangasem

Several valuable items were stolen from Paborito Coffee on Jalan Raya Gelumpang, Karangasem, on Wednesday (21 October 2026). Before carrying out the burglary, the perpetrator is suspected of damaging the CCTV camera installed at the premises.

Karangasem Police public relations officer Ipda I Nengah Artono said the incident was first discovered by a parking attendant who was due to start work at the site. On arrival, the witness saw that the donation box usually kept on a table had disappeared.

“When he checked more closely, he found that the front door of Paborito Coffee had also been damaged. The witness immediately contacted one of the staff members who worked there,” Artono said.

The incident was then reported to the owner of Paborito Coffee, who contacted the police through the 110 call centre. Shortly afterwards, a number of Karangasem Police officers arrived to examine the scene.

The inspection found that items including a tablet, camera, printer, computer monitor and cash drawer containing around Rp1.1 million had been taken. The losses are estimated to amount to tens of millions of rupiah.

“The perpetrator is suspected of damaging the CCTV camera before carrying out the burglary, as our examination found that it was damaged,” Artono said.

Karangasem Police’s criminal investigation unit is continuing its investigation to identify the perpetrator. Witnesses and CCTV footage from along the road are also expected to be examined to support the inquiry.
