CCTV Catches Bicycle Thief in Depok During Tarawih Prayers

CCTV footage shows the bicycle theft on Jalan Pinang II, Limo, Depok. The thief stole the bicycle while the homeowner was performing Tarawih prayers.

From videos circulating on social media, the thief is seen wearing a black sweater and a pink hat. The thief approached the victim’s house while observing the surroundings.

It did not take long; the thief took the bicycle and left the scene.

Cinere Police Chief Comr. (Kompol) Chairul Saleh said the theft occurred on Thursday, 5 March 2026, at about 8:00 pm WIB on Jalan Pinang II, Limo, Depok. The homeowner at that time was conducting Tarawih prayers.

‘The incident happened around 8:00 pm WIB at the time the occupants of the house or the victim were performing Tarawih prayers,’ Kompol Chairul said in a statement on Sunday, 8 March.

The chronology began during Tarawih. Then the CCTV alarm sounded and there was the clatter of dishes.

‘So the congregants named Oma went out from the musalla to check the situation outside and at that time Oma’s relative was approached by a child who said that the H. Kojai bicycle had been taken by an unknown person,’ he explained.

The witness then informed the owner that the bicycle had been stolen. The victim checked the CCTV while the witness chased the thief but could not locate him.

Police are conducting checks at the scene of the incident (TKP) and have urged the victim to file a police report (LP) regarding the matter. The case is currently being handled by Cinere Police.
