CCTV Captures Taufik Hidayat Seeking Dedi Mulyadi Before Arrest

Suspect Taufik Hidayat (30) visited Gedung Pakuan to seek and request a direct meeting with West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi before his arrest in an alleged kidnapping and assault case. Governor Dedi Mulyadi disclosed this after visiting the victim, YTR (29), at Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung on Monday afternoon. According to Dedi, the visit occurred in the early hours, shortly before the suspect was apprehended by the West Java Regional Police in Majalaya. “Taufik came to Gedung Pakuan at 4 a.m. WIB, approached the guard post, and while wearing a helmet and mask, said, ‘I want to meet the Governor, I am ready to go to prison but there is something I need to convey first,’” Dedi stated. The Governor confirmed the information was not fabricated, as it was clearly recorded on the building’s CCTV. At the time, Taufik was already a named suspect and on the wanted list of the West Java Regional Police. Dedi also revealed that Taufik attempted to visit his private residence in Lembur Pakuan, Subang Regency, but the plan was aborted because the person driving him became too frightened. According to Dedi, the suspect’s intention was not to seek protection from the legal process but to surrender himself after delivering a message directly to the Governor. Dedi also provided an update on the victim’s condition, who remains in intensive care, and stated that the provincial government will provide full support for all medical treatment, including any necessary reconstructive surgery.
