CBL Bekasi Road Collapses, Drivers Anxious Every Time They Pass
BEKASI, KOMPAS.com – The Cikarang Bekasi Laut (CBL) main road in Muktiwari Village, Cibitung Subdistrict, Bekasi Regency, has collapsed due to a landslide in early March 2026. This condition has damaged half of the road surface and disrupted traffic flow, causing worry among road users. Based on observations by Kompas.com at the site, the road, which is about 10 metres wide, can now only be traversed by one vehicle at a time on an alternating basis. Several drivers were seen veering to the side of the road near residential areas and slowing down to avoid the risk of slipping into the fairly deep landslide area. One motorcyclist, Taufik Andrian (38), said the landslide occurred due to heavy rain and unstable soil conditions. He admitted to feeling worried about falling while crossing the road. “Every time I pass here, I feel unsafe, and it’s scary because the road is just like a narrow path,” Taufik said when met by Kompas.com at the location on Friday (10/4/2026). “Not long ago, I saw some government officials checking the road. But there’s been no execution yet. It should be done as quickly as possible so that residents can pass comfortably,” he added. According to Taufik, temporary repairs were previously carried out ahead of Eid with the installation of barriers and concrete pouring along the riverbank. However, that condition did not last long and the landslide recurred after Eid. “Initially, it was just temporary repairs because Eid was coming. Then after Eid, it collapsed again,” he explained. Another resident, Kamaludin (52), stated that the landslide happened suddenly. He mentioned that the road is frequently used by heavy vehicles.
