Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) technology is increasingly being utilised in dental health services to help doctors obtain more accurate diagnoses. This three-dimensional imaging technology enables more detailed visualisation of tooth and jaw structures compared to conventional radiographic methods.

According to the Diagnostics journal (mdpi.com), CBCT technology can produce three-dimensional images that assist the diagnosis and treatment planning process in various fields of dentistry, from orthodontics, implantology, and endodontics to oral surgery.

In line with this development, OMDC Dental has introduced a 3D Advanced Dental Imaging & Radiology service at OMDC Dental Mampang, South Jakarta, and OMDC Dental Galaxy, Bekasi. This service allows patients to undergo consultation, radiological examination, and procedures more efficiently in a single visit.

OMDC Group Public Relation Specialist Ade Ristya Noviasari said the need for more precise diagnosis is one of the factors driving the use of digital imaging technology in dental health services. According to Ade, CBCT technology helps doctors obtain a more detailed picture of the condition of teeth, jawbone, and surrounding tissue, so that the diagnosis and treatment planning process can be carried out more accurately.

“Patients today are not only seeking comfortable treatment, but also more accurate diagnosis. Through CBCT technology, doctors can see the condition of teeth and jaw more comprehensively, so that the treatment provided can be tailored to each patient’s needs,” Ade said in a statement.

She explained that the technology can be used for various dental treatment needs, such as fitting braces, dental implants, wisdom tooth surgery, and root canal treatment. In certain cases, doctors require a more detailed picture of the tooth and jaw structure to support precise medical decision-making.

In addition to three-dimensional CBCT services, OMDC Dental also provides a number of other radiology services, such as panoramic, cephalometric, and periapical imaging. Each examination has a different function, ranging from evaluating the condition of all teeth and jaw to detailed examination of tooth roots.

Ade added that the development of digital radiology services is part of OMDC Dental’s effort to provide more modern, integrated, and efficient dental health services. “Examination results can be obtained in a short time so that doctor and patient can immediately discuss the necessary treatment steps. The hope is that this technology can help improve service quality while providing a more comfortable treatment experience for patients,” Ade said.
