Cawang Sidewalks Redesigned with 'Complete Street' Concept for Inclusive Access

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is continuing the renovation of sidewalks on a number of main roads using the ‘complete street’ concept, which prioritises inclusive, safe, and comfortable road spaces for all users.

The project is being carried out in the Simpang Cawang area and on the south side of Jalan Pemuda, with a target for completion in November 2026. The work includes widening and repairing sidewalks, as well as arranging pedestrian paths, cycle lanes, and supporting elements such as guiding blocks, ramps, and green spaces.

The complete street concept is designed to balance the needs of all road users, from pedestrians and cyclists to public transport users and motor vehicles. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is undertaking the work as part of efforts to improve the quality of public spaces and support safer, more inclusive, and sustainable urban mobility.
