Caution: Dangerous Points on Jakarta Roads During 2026 Eid Exodus
Jakarta — The 2026 Eid exodus is predicted to commence on Tuesday, 17 March.
The Director of Traffic for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya), Brigadier Komarudin, has urged the public to be cautious of high-risk accident points.
“There are several locations with potential accident hazards. We are particularly concerned about arterial routes,” Komarudin told journalists on Friday, 13 March 2026.
The identified dangerous zones include routes in West Jakarta along Jalan Daan Mogot, extending to Kalimalang in East Jakarta.
Road users have been advised to remain vigilant, especially given unstable weather conditions. They are also cautioned against carrying excessive loads on vehicles.
“Luggage should not be too heavy, and riding practices should also be carefully observed,” Komarudin stated.
Ahead of the exodus period, Komarudin has encouraged the public to maximise the use of public transport, particularly free mudik programmes.
Furthermore, 68 security posts (Pos Pam), including service posts (Pos Yan) and monitoring posts, have been deployed at various locations across the city to assist with traffic management and public safety.
