Caution: Congestion-Prone Points on Trans Java Toll Road During Eid Holiday Exodus

Karawang – The Eid holiday exodus along the Trans Java Toll Road is frequently marked by significant increases in vehicle volume. These conditions make several points along the motorway prone to congestion, particularly when traffic flow peaks.

Vice President of Corporate Secretary and Legal Affairs at PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paalo, identified several locations that frequently become traffic bottlenecks. One such point is the junction at KM 48, which serves as an intersection for vehicles from two main toll routes.

“At the KM 48 junction between traffic volumes on the MBZ and Japek lower routes,” she stated.

Additionally, rest areas frequently become traffic slowdown points, particularly during preferred rest times for holiday travellers. “Traffic volume heading to rest areas during peak hours also becomes a congestion-prone point that typically needs to be anticipated,” she explained.

Based on field observations, several locations with curved road configurations require drivers to adjust vehicle speed. Furthermore, uneven or potholed road conditions can also affect traffic flow. Bridge connections are also a contributing factor to vehicle slowdowns, especially during heavy traffic conditions. Vehicles previously travelling at high speed typically must reduce speed when crossing such sections.

Consequently, holiday travellers using the Trans Java Toll Road are urged to maintain safe distances, regulate vehicle speed, and anticipate potential slowdowns at these points to ensure safe and smooth travel.
