Caution advised on Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road as gantry installation begins
JAKARTA — Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad through Representative Office 2 and PT Jasamarga Tollroad Maintenance (JMTM) will install gantry signs on the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road (Janger) towards Merak. The gantry installation is part of efforts to enhance safety and improve traffic information for road users. ‘During the works, Jasa Marga will implement phased traffic management around the work site. At certain stages, the lifting and installation of gantry spans requires temporary closure of all lanes for a limited duration to ensure the safety of road users and on-site personnel,’ said Senior Manager of Representative Office 2 Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad, Ginanjar Bekti R, cited on Friday, 29 May 2026. The works are scheduled from Sunday, 31 May 2026, 11:00pm WIB to Monday, 1 June 2026, 2:00am WIB at KM 23+950 to KM 24+450 towards Jakarta. The outer shoulder will be closed from 11:00pm to 11:30pm WIB for material and crane mobilisation to the work site. Subsequently, the outer shoulder and Lane 1 will be closed from 11:30pm to 12:40am WIB for work sign installation, equipment preparation, and gantry pole erection. A temporary full lane closure will occur from 12:40am to 12:50am WIB for median gantry pole installation. Then, the outer shoulder and Lane 1 will be closed again from 12:50am to 1:20am WIB for gantry span assembly and sign panel installation. Another temporary full lane closure is scheduled from 1:20am to 1:30am WIB for gantry span installation. Finally, the outer shoulder and Lane 1 will be closed from 1:30am to 2:00am WIB for site cleanup and removal of temporary traffic equipment. Jasa Marga stated that the works will be conducted considering traffic and weather conditions to ensure safety and smooth execution. To avoid congestion during the works, drivers heading towards Merak are advised to consider alternative routes via nearby toll exits based on real-time traffic conditions. Jasa Marga also urged road users to plan travel times, comply with traffic signs and on-site officers’ instructions, and ensure sufficient electronic card balance before entering the toll road. Road users can monitor real-time traffic updates via the 24-hour one call centre at 133, Jasa Marga’s official website, social media @official.jmmetropolitan, and the Travoy app.
