Caution Advised for Increased Rainfall During Indonesia's Seasonal Transition

Parts of Indonesia have entered the dry season and the transitional period. However, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has noted that light to heavy rainfall continues in several regions. From 29 to 31 May 2026, according to BMKG’s Public Meteorology Directorate, moderate rainfall is expected to increase in North Sumatra, Riau Islands, Jambi, Bangka Belitung Islands, West Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, and South Kalimantan. Strong winds may occur in Aceh, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Maluku, and Southwest Papua. Between 1 and 4 June 2026, moderate rainfall is expected to increase in Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau Islands, Jambi, West Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, Southwest Papua, West Papua, Central Papua, and Papua.
