Preparations for the 2026 Eid exodus in West Java are being finalised by the central and regional governments. As the province with the highest mobility, West Java is predicted to accommodate millions of vehicles travelling eastward. Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi projects that peak exodus traffic will occur on Wednesday, 18 March 2026 (three days before Eid), with vehicle volumes reaching hundreds of thousands of units at major toll gates.

Based on mapping by the West Java Regional Police and Transportation Department, fifteen congestion hotspots have been identified as congestion centres.

This year, the government is encouraging travellers to use the South Coast Route (Pansela). This route stretches from Sukabumi to Pangandaran. Its advantages include scenic views and far lower congestion compared to main routes.

Section 3 of the Bocimi Toll Road (Cibadak-West Sukabumi) is planned to open functionally to support the 2026 exodus traffic. Besides the Cipali Toll, travellers can use the Cisumdawu Toll route, which is now fully connected towards Cirebon.

Governor Dedi Mulyadi of West Java has implemented policy to suspend operations of motorcab taxis, minibuses (angkot), horse carts (delman), and pedicabs (becak) operating on exodus routes.

The Bekasi District Transportation Department is preparing infrastructure as well as personnel support to assist traffic management during the exodus period.
