Caustic Liquid Used to Assault Andrie Yunus Sourced from Denma BAIS TNI Workshop
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Military Prosecutor’s Office II-07 Jakarta has disclosed that the mixture of caustic liquid used to douse Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), originated from the Denma workshop of the TNI’s Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS). In this case, four BAIS TNI members are charged with involvement: Serda Edi Sudarko, Lettu Budhi Hariyanto Widhi, Kapten Nandala Dwi Prasetia, and Lettu Sami Lakka. This fact was revealed during the indictment reading session at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta on Wednesday (29/4/2026). Military Prosecutor Lt Col Chk Muhammad Iswadi explained that on 12 March 2026 around 4:30 PM WIB, the defendants departed for the Denma BAIS TNI workshop. “At that time, Edi waited on the motorcycle while Budhi walked to the Denma BAIS TNI car workshop. Upon arriving at the workshop, Budhi took a used battery located in the corner in front of the toilet or bathroom,” said Iswadi. He explained that Budhi then took several liquids stored in an unlocked safe. “The defendant then mixed the two liquids into a purple tumbler glass with a black lid that was brought from the room. Subsequently, the tumbler was wrapped in black plastic and hung on the front of the motorcycle,” Iswadi clarified. Around 5:00 PM WIB, the defendants departed using two motorcycles from the Denma BAIS TNI Mess through the back gate. They then searched for Andrie Yunus at several locations in Central Jakarta. “Heading to the Kamisan event at Monas, upon arriving at Monas the defendants did not find Andrie Yunus’s whereabouts, then the defendants continued searching for Andrie Yunus to other places and upon arriving at Tugu Tani, Edi and Budhi separated from Nandala and Sami,” he stated. Nandala and Sami headed to YLBHI, while Edi and Budhi went towards the Kwitang area. “However, before the red light at Atrium Senen in Central Jakarta, Budhi turned around and entered a village road and cut through Jalan Kramat Raya to monitor the area around the KontraS office,” he revealed. “After finishing, Nandala and Sami continued to the YLBHI office, upon arriving at the YLBHI office, the defendants stopped and waited across the street right in front of the YLBHI office at a distance of 50 to 100 metres while pacing back and forth,” he said.
