Cause of Transjakarta Corridor 13 bus accident still under investigation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Transportasi Jakarta said the cause of an accident involving operator buses BMP 263 and MYS 17100 on Corridor 13 (Puri Beta-Petukangan) along the Swadarma stretch towards Cipulir, South Jakarta, on Monday morning is still under thorough investigation.
“The cause of the incident is currently undergoing an in-depth investigation process. Transjakarta is fully committed to handling this situation swiftly and professionally for the safety of all passengers,” said Transjakarta Head of Public Relations and CSR Department Ayu Wardhani in Jakarta on Monday.
She said Transjakarta’s primary focus at present is ensuring passenger safety.
According to reports, the accident caused significant damage to parts of the bus and left a number of passengers with minor injuries.
“Officers carried out a rapid evacuation to the nearest stop, and passengers who sustained minor injuries have received treatment,” Ayu said.
Meanwhile, Corridor 13 buses covering routes 13B (CBD Ciledug-Tegal Mampang) and L13E (Puri Beta-Pancoran) experienced delays due to traffic congestion at Puri Beta 2 and around the JORR underpass.
This caused travel times from Puri Beta 2 to Petukangan, which normally take just 7 minutes, to increase to as long as 39 minutes.
Ayu said the situation also led to a build-up of passengers and longer queues at stops than usual.
In addition to the Transjakarta bus fleet, the Mikrotrans JAK107 service (Jembatan Garden-Puri Beta) also experienced significant delays.
