Cause of Fire at Cimuning SPBE in Bekasi Still Under Investigation, Police Deploy Forensic Team

Police are still investigating the cause of the fire that occurred at the SPBE in Cimuning, Mustikajaya Subdistrict, Bekasi City, on Wednesday, 1 April 2026, around 9:15 PM Western Indonesia Time. The investigation is being conducted by Polres Metro Bekasi, involving the Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) team to uncover the source of the fire, including suspicions of an accompanying explosion. The Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya stated that the fire spread to surrounding residential areas. “On Wednesday, 1 April 2026, at 9:15 PM WIB, a fire occurred at the SPBE of PT Indogas Andalan Kita, Jalan Raya Cinyosok, Cimuning Village, Mustikajaya Subdistrict, Bekasi City, which spread to the surrounding area,” said Kabid Humas Budi Hemanto to reporters on Thursday (2/4). As a result of the incident, over a dozen people suffered burns and have been evacuated to several hospitals for medical treatment. In addition to causing injuries, the fire also damaged several residents’ buildings. “The fire also impacted residents’ buildings, including houses, rented rooms, shops, stalls, and scrap warehouses,” he continued. The Bekasi City Fire and Rescue Service deployed 15 fire engine units to extinguish the fire that burned the SPBE and dozens of residents’ houses. PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jawa Bagian Barat (JBB) has assured that it will take full responsibility for the impacts of the explosion and fire at the SPBE in Cimuning, Mustika Jaya, Bekasi City.
