Caught in KPK Sting Operation, Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Arrives at Merah Putih Building

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo has arrived at the Merah Putih Building of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in Jakarta after being arrested in a hand-catching operation (OTT). “The Regent arrived at the KPK Merah Putih building around 06:50 WIB and was immediately subjected to intensive examination,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in his statement on Saturday (11/4/2026). Upon arrival at the KPK, Gatut was immediately escorted into the examination room. “Meanwhile, the other parties are currently being examined at the Tulungagung Police Resort,” he added. It is known that the KPK conducted a covert investigation at several locations in East Java. To date, the KPK has not revealed the identities of the 15 people arrested along with Gatut. The KPK has also not mentioned whether any evidence was seized.
