CATL Dominates EV Battery Market with 47% Market Share
CATL is reported to dominate China’s EV battery market with a 47% market share. According to data from Kerui cited by Carnewschina on Monday (25 May), the electric vehicle battery industry shows a stable and highly concentrated competitive landscape, with CATL leading the market for April 2026, while FinDreams and CALB hold second and third places respectively. In April 2026, CATL recorded installations of 28,694 MWh. FinDreams, BYD’s battery unit, came in second with 11,133 MWh, accounting for an 18.3% market share. Gotion High-tech ranked fourth with 3,705 MWh installations and a 6.1% market share. Other companies in the top 10 include EVE, Rept Battero, Zenergy, Sunwoda, and Energee. Overall, the top 10 battery manufacturers control over 95% of China’s total EV battery installation market in April 2026, highlighting the industry’s high concentration.
