Catholic Youth: Easter as a Source of Unity Amid Global Dynamics
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Central Executive Board (PP) of Catholic Youth, Stefanus Gusma, stated that the momentum of Easter 2026 should be interpreted as a strengthening of the nation’s moral energy to maintain unity and accelerate the agenda of social justice, amid global dynamics still overshadowed by conflicts and uncertainties.
In recent years, according to him, the world has continued to face prolonged conflicts that have led to humanitarian crises and global economic instability. On the other hand, Indonesia, as a pluralistic nation, continues to strive to maintain social cohesion amid diversity.
“Easter delivers a strong message that hope must be translated into concrete actions. This aligns with the spirit of national development that prioritises unity, social justice, and the welfare of the people,” said Stefanus in Jakarta on Sunday.
He also highlighted the importance of sustainable development amid the increasing frequency of natural disasters in various regions of Indonesia.
This phenomenon, he said, underscores the urgency of policies that are not only oriented towards growth but also environmental sustainability.
In the context of governance, he emphasised that strengthening integrity, transparency, and accountability is an important foundation to maintain public trust and ensure the effectiveness of development programmes, including efforts to alleviate poverty and protect vulnerable groups.
“This is not merely a reflection of faith, but a moral contribution to strengthening the direction of national development. Easter is the energy to ensure that progress goes hand in hand with justice and humanity,” he said.
For this reason, he views the momentum of Easter as a collaborative invitation for all elements of the nation to maintain stability, strengthen social solidarity, and drive transformation towards an advanced, inclusive, and sustainable Indonesia.
“Happy Easter 2026. May the resurrection of Christ affirm hope, strengthen brotherhood, and motivate us all to continue working for an advanced, inclusive, and sustainable Indonesia,” he said.
