Catherine set for int'l comeback

JAKARTA (JP): Catherine Surya, set to make an international
comeback at the 18th Southeast Asian Games in December, surpassed
two time limits during a national selection here on Sunday.

Catherine, who completed her 18-month ban for doping last
month, beat her former teammates in the national squad to finish
first in 200m butterfly, 400m freestyle and 800m freestyle. The
14-year-old swimmer just failed to eclipse the 800m freestyle
time.

"I'm ready for the Games. Hopefully, I will do my best out
there," said Catherine, who has just returned from a three-month
stint in Brisbane, Australia. The Indonesian Swimming Association
will announce the national team for the Games, made up of between
16 and 20 swimmers, next week. (amd)
