Catchment area filled for housing
Catchment area filled for housing
From Kompas
As residents of Villa Cinere Mas, we are concerned about PT
Indokisar's misleading advertisement in Kompas (Nov. 8) on its
new project, "Cinere Mas". The project is actually located at
Pisangan, Ciputat, Tangerang in West Java and not in Jakarta.
Jl. Karang Tengah Raya, from the entrance of the housing
complex onward, has been in dire condition for years. The traffic
jam caused by the new project is known to all.
The "Cinere Mas" project is not connected with Villa Cinere
Mas. Their land was a water catchment area measuring 12 hectares.
The pristine green valley has been filled since July 1996. The
landfill has brought about floods on both ends of the "Cinere
Mas" project, due to the elimination of the catchment area's
function and the narrowing of a tributary of the Pesanggerahan
river running through the valley.
Villa Cinere Mas residents question the "Cinere Mas" project,
because they object to the use of the local roads in the complex
for the transport of the project's material. The roads have
always been maintained by the residents at personal cost.
The developer has never spoken to the residents about the
construction of the project. The residents' objections have been
submitted to the related agencies.
Prospective buyers should be careful before deciding to buy.
