Casual Worker Burglars Furniture Warehouse in Badung, Stolen Goods Sold Online
A casual labourer with the initials FMZ (20) has been arrested by police for breaking into a furniture warehouse on Jalan Gatot Subroto (Gatsu) Barat, Kerobokan Kaja Village, North Kuta District, Badung. The man stole various carpentry machines and sold them through marketplace applications on social media platforms to cover his daily living expenses.
“The perpetrator entered the warehouse area and took the victim’s belongings during quiet hours. Based on his admission, the items were immediately offered online and sold at two different locations,” said Kompol I Ketut Agus Pasek Sudina, head of North Kuta Police Substation, on Thursday (12 March 2026).
The furniture warehouse targeted by FMZ belonged to I Ketut Supriatno (52). The victim only became aware of the break-in on Thursday morning (12 February 2026) after discovering several production tools were missing and reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) recordings at the scene. Supriatno suffered losses of 9 million rupiah as a result of the theft.
“The victim lost one compressor unit and various Bosch branded machines including a wood planer, drill machine and grinder. We apprehended the perpetrator in the West Denpasar area following a thorough investigation,” said Agus Pasek.
The man, originally from Bogor, confessed to police that he acted alone in the early hours. He sold the compressor for 520,000 rupiah in Sesetan Village, whilst the other tools were sold in bulk for 500,000 rupiah on Jalan Cokroaminoto, Denpasar.
“The proceeds from the theft were used by the perpetrator for daily expenses. We have secured him at the Substation. The perpetrator is temporarily residing in the Terminal Ubung area and claims this is his first theft offence,” explained Agus Pasek.
