Technology, Mechanism and New Structure Enhance Watch Accuracy and Durability

Tokyo, (ANTARA/PRNewswire)- Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of the GWR-B3000, the latest model in the G-SHOCK GRAVITYMASTER series of shock-resistant watches. With a new mechanism and a more robust structure, the GWR-B3000 is designed to maintain time accuracy and durability in the vibrating and impact-prone environment of an aircraft cockpit.

The GWR-B3000 features TOUGH MVT. 2, the latest mechanism developed to maintain timekeeping accuracy, even during flight. Inheriting the capabilities of the previous generation TOUGH MVT.*1, the new mechanism has two functions that automatically respond to impacts and magnetic fields. An impact-detection-based automatic hand-correction function complements the conventional automatic time-correction system. When the watch detects a strong impact, the position of the watch hands is immediately adjusted to ensure that the time display remains accurate. In addition, a magnetic field detection function stops the movement of the hands when exposed to a strong magnetic field to prevent the hands from shifting. Once the magnetic interference disappears, the watch resumes normal operation without affecting timekeeping accuracy.

In terms of construction, the GWR-B3000 features a dual hollow case structure made up of various precision components. The design process has undergone AI-based impact resistance analysis. Casio conducted extensive simulations covering impacts, centrifugal forces, and vibrations to optimise each component. Various metal components produced using Metal Injection Molding (MIM) *2 are combined with shock-absorbing resin to create a slimmer design without compromising shock absorption.

The GWR-B3000 also features a new matte dial with a surface texture created through microfabrication, which diffuses incoming light and reduces reflections. This feature makes it easy to read the time at a glance during flight, ensuring optimal visibility even in direct sunlight.
