Casino Raided by Bareskrim in Sukoharjo Located Opposite a Place of Worship

The location of the casino raided by Bareskrim Polri is in front of the Vihara Karunia Maitreya place of worship on Jalan Rambutan, Kwarasan Village, Grogol, Sukoharjo, Central Java. Rp 1 billion in cash was seized from the raid.

The casino location had previously been reported by the Grogol Residents Forum through a network in the Sukoharjo DPRD on Thursday (27/11/2025). This was because residents had difficulty proving its existence.

“In front of it there is a place of worship. Because we had difficulty proving it, we asked for help from the DPRD,” said the Secretary of the Grogol Residents Forum, Endro Sudarsono, when contacted by media crews, as reported by detikJateng, Friday (28/8/2026).

In the public hearing, residents together with members of the Sukoharjo DPRD, the police, and Grogol Sub-district officials had visited the location. However, when they arrived, the casino location was tightly closed.

It was stated that gambling activities at the location used tables. The casino was said to have been operating since the middle of last year.

“Yes (it was previously used as a warehouse). Gambling has been going on for approximately 3 months before I went to the Sukoharjo DPRD (hearing). Then we carried out an investigation, checked the location, until there were residents and Laskar friends who visited at night,” he said.

He did not know for certain what the gambling practices were like because he did not have access to the location.

“I received information that the raid was about a week ago. Around the 16th (of August),” he explained.
