The stabbing case involving Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers from the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police and Indonesian Army (TNI AD) soldiers has ended peacefully. Four Brimob officers were allegedly stabbed by three TNI AD soldiers in a bloody incident that occurred in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, NTT.

The peace process involved representatives from Company 1 of the Pioneer Battalion of the NTT Police Brimob Unit and the 1630/West Manggarai Military District Command. The peace agreement was marked by the signing of a Peace Statement Letter conducted by the West Manggarai Police.

"This meeting demonstrates that the TNI-Polri synergy in West Manggarai remains strong and cannot be disrupted by misunderstandings. We agreed to make this momentum a joint step to continue maintaining a safe, peaceful, and conducive public security and order situation," said West Manggarai Police Chief AKBP Christian Kadang in a written statement on Thursday (18/6/2026).

Based on the agreement reached, both parties declared they would resolve the matter peacefully and not pursue criminal proceedings. Additionally, the coaching and disciplinary enforcement process for the involved members will be carried out internally according to the applicable rules of each institution.

Christian emphasised the importance of maintaining harmony among security forces, especially since Labuan Bajo is a tourist destination that requires guaranteed security and comfort for both the public and visitors.

"Labuan Bajo is a showcase of Indonesian tourism on the world stage. Therefore, security, peace, and brotherhood must be maintained together to provide a sense of comfort for the community and tourists," said Christian.

"Differences of opinion or misunderstandings can be resolved through communication and deliberation. The most important thing is to maintain unity, strengthen synergy, and ensure the public continues to feel the presence of the state in providing a sense of security," he concluded.

It was previously reported that several NTT Police Brimob officers were involved in a brawl with TNI AD soldiers in Labuan Bajo on 10 June. Four Brimob officers were allegedly stabbed by three TNI AD soldiers in the bloody incident.

The case began when several Brimob personnel attended a thanksgiving mass for the inauguration of Brimob officer Bripda JGR in Waemata Hamlet, Gorontalo Village. Initially, the event proceeded peacefully.

After midnight, the atmosphere heated up due to a misunderstanding between the Brimob officers and several TNI AD soldiers at the location. An argument was unavoidable and culminated in the stabbing.

As a result of the brawl, Bripda RS, Bripda FA, Bripda BBK, and another Brimob officer became victims of assault. They sustained stab wounds to the back. According to Henry, several personnel at the location immediately intervened to prevent the situation from escalating further.
