Police have revealed new facts regarding the death of a man named Alfin Maksalmina Windian (28), whose body was found buried in Cikeas, Bogor Regency.

The victim’s family is known to have previously reported a case of suspected fraud and embezzlement to the East Jakarta Metro Police.

East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Alfian Nurrizal stated that the investigation into the report is still ongoing and is now being handled by the Subdit Resmob Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya.

“The fraud and embezzlement report filed with the East Jakarta Metro Police is continuing and is being handled by the Ranmor Unit of the East Jakarta Metro Police,” Alfian told reporters on Thursday (26/3).

On the other hand, Alfian also disclosed that the victim’s body was buried at a depth of three metres before it was finally discovered.

“The victim found in Cikeas was buried at a depth of three metres and was discovered by the Resmob of Polda Metro Jaya,” he said.

Previously, a video with narration about a man’s body being found buried on a plot of land in Cikeas, Bogor Regency, West Java, went viral on social media.

In the video uploaded by the Instagram account @warungjurnalis, it was stated that before being found dead, the victim had been reported missing since 11 March.

“Reported missing since 11 March 2026, a man was found dead on an empty plot in the Cikeas area, West Java, on Wednesday (25/3/2026). The victim with initials A (27) is currently in the mortuary of RS Polri Kramat Jati, East Jakarta,” read the caption in the post.

When confirmed, the Head of Criminal Investigation at East Jakarta Metro Police AKBP Dicky Fertoffan confirmed that the man’s body was that of the person reported missing by his family to the East Jakarta Metro Police.

“The information is as such (the man’s body is that of the person who was reported missing),” Dicky said when confirmed on Thursday (26/3).

Dicky stated that one alleged perpetrator has also been arrested in relation to the discovery of the man’s body. He said the case is now being handled by the Subdit Resmob Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya.
