Case of Indonesian Citizen Murdered in Germany: Indonesia Ensures Fair and Non-Discriminatory Legal Process

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu), through the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Frankfurt, will ensure that the legal process against the suspect in the murder of Indonesian citizen (WNI) Isaac Hansen Averino in Germany proceeds fairly and transparently.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs through KJRI Frankfurt will continue to ensure that the legal process runs fairly, transparently, and non-discriminatorily,” said Kemlu Spokesperson Vahd Nabyl Mulachela when contacted by Kompas.com on Monday (20/4/2026).

He stated that since the initial handling of the case, KJRI Frankfurt has been coordinating intensively with local police and prosecutorial authorities to support the investigation process.

“KJRI Frankfurt also conveyed information and condolences to the family at the first opportunity,” he said.

“The Directorate of WNI Protection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also facilitated the arrival process and handover of the body to the family,” he added.

The WNI named Isaac Hansen Averino (24) was reported dead due to an alleged stabbing at his residence in Kirchen (Sieg), in the state of Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, on Wednesday (18/03) night local time.

Based on statements from family and relatives, the victim last communicated on Wednesday (18/03) night before the incident.

He had said goodbye to his girlfriend to cook in the shared kitchen at his residence.

However, after that, the victim no longer responded to messages, which was considered unusual by his relatives.

Concerns grew when the victim still did not give any news the next morning, which was his usual routine.

Attempts to contact the victim also yielded no results, until the family finally received information that the victim had passed away.
