Case of 4 BAIS TNI Soldiers in Acid Attack on Andrie Yunus Transferred to Military Prosecutor
JAKARTA - The Head of the TNI Information Centre (Kapuspen) TNI, Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, stated that the TNI Military Police Centre (Puspom) TNI has transferred four TNI soldiers suspected of throwing acid on Andrie Yunus to the Military Prosecutor’s Office (Otmil) II-07 Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
“Today, Tuesday, 7 April 2026, the case files, the suspects, and the evidence of the criminal act of assaulting AY have been transferred from the Puspom TNI investigators to Otmil II-07 Jakarta,” Aulia said in a press release on Tuesday (8/4/2026).
The military prosecutor is an official authorised to act as the public prosecutor, as the executor of court decisions or determinations within the military justice system.
The transfer was carried out after the Puspom TNI completed its investigation into the four BAIS TNI soldiers.
Following the transfer, prosecutors from the Military Prosecutor’s Office (Otmil) II-07 Jakarta will examine the completeness of the case files, both in terms of formal and material requirements.
If all documents are deemed to meet the provisions, the case files will then be forwarded to the Military Court II-08 Jakarta for the trial process.
“The suspects transferred number four people, with initials NDP, SL, BHW, ES, along with the evidence,” Aulia said.
Aulia stated that this step also demonstrates firmness against any criminal acts involving TNI soldiers.
The four TNI members, suspects in the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus, are charged with premeditated assault under Article 467 of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP).
“There, there are paragraphs 1 and 2, where the penalties are already stipulated, some 4 years, some 7 years,” said the Commander of Puspom TNI, Major General (Mayjen) TNI Yusri Nuryanto, during a press conference at TNI Headquarters on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
Furthermore, Yusri said that his side is still investigating the mastermind behind the acid attack on Andrie Yunus.
“So, regarding who gave the order, that’s it. So, we are still delving into it,” he said.
The two-star TNI general explained that the investigation is ongoing by gathering witness statements and evidence, including delving into the perpetrators’ motives.
“We will later convey the stages from the investigation process, filing, then the handover of the files to the Odmil (Military Prosecutor) until the trial process,” Yusri said.
