The case of the assault on Ronald A Sinaga, alias Bro Ron, deputy chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), in Menteng, Central Jakarta, has ended peacefully. The police resolved the case through restorative justice.

“Today in the afternoon, both parties have submitted a process for settling the matter through the restorative justice mechanism,” said Menteng Metro Police Chief AKBP Braiel Arnold Rondonuwu to reporters at the Menteng Metro Police Station, Jakarta, on Thursday (7/5/2026).

AKBP Braiel stated that both parties have forgiven each other and acknowledged their mutual mistakes. They were also brought together at the Menteng Metro Police Station.

“Based on the fact that both parties have forgiven each other and acknowledged their mutual mistakes and forgiven one another,” he explained.

The peaceful agreement between the two parties has led the police to close the investigation into this case. Previously, both parties had reported each other.

“Subsequently, the legal process from the police reports by both parties will be resolved and finalised through the procedural mechanism of restorative justice settlement,” he concluded.

Background of the Bro Ron Assault Incident

Head of Public Relations at Central Jakarta Metro Police Iptu Erlyn Sumantri explained that the assault occurred on Monday (4/5) at 16:22 WIB. Initially, Ronald arrived with 15 employees of PT SKS to hold an audience at the MPP law firm regarding the unpaid wages of the employees.

“Since the audience could not meet with the MPP party as the one being demonstrated against, the Menteng Metro Police Station took the initiative to hold mediation at the Menteng Metro Police Station,” explained Erlyn on Tuesday (5/5).

He said that the audience at the location initially proceeded safely and conducively with police accompaniment. However, a group of unknown individuals then appeared and, without clear reason, carried out intimidation and obstructed the audience process.

“As a result of the actions of that group, the situation heated up and an argument arose, eventually leading to the victim receiving punches from that group,” Erlyn clarified.

“Then, officers separated the victim and the suspects and secured them to be brought to the Menteng Metro Police Station for further examination,” he added.
