Case Files Submitted, Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa Await Trial in Jokowi Fake Diploma Case
The legal proceedings against Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma, known as Doctor Tifa, regarding accusations of a fake diploma belonging to Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo have entered a new phase. The East Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office officially transferred the indictment files for both defendants to the East Jakarta District Court on Tuesday afternoon, 23 June 2026. With this transfer, the legal process is now at the trial stage, pending only the appointment of a panel of judges and the scheduling of the first hearing. ‘The general criminal case on behalf of defendant Dr. Kanjeng Raden Mas Tumenggung Roy Suryo Notodiprojo and defendant dr. Tifauzia Tyassuma has been transferred to the East Jakarta District Court,’ said Head of the Intelligence Section at the East Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office, Yogi Sudharsono, on Wednesday, 24 June 2026. Yogi explained that the transfer of the indictment file was carried out based on the Decree of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia Number 114/KMA/SK.HK2.2/VI/2026 dated 22 June 2026. ‘Furthermore, the public prosecutor is waiting for the trial schedule to be determined by the Panel of Judges at the East Jakarta District Court,’ he stated. Separately, the Spokesperson for the East Jakarta District Court, Immanuel Tarigan, confirmed that the case files for Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa had been received. According to him, the files will first be checked for administrative completeness before a panel of judges is appointed and a trial date is set. ‘The files for Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa were transferred to the East Jakarta District Court this afternoon. The completeness of the administrative files will be checked immediately, followed by the appointment of a panel of judges and the determination of the trial date,’ said Immanuel. Previously, after avoiding detention, Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma were preparing for the next stage of the case concerning the fake diploma allegations against former President Joko Widodo. The South Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the case would soon proceed to trial. Notably, the trial will not be held in the South Jakarta jurisdiction but at the East Jakarta District Court. This was confirmed by the Head of the South Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office, Marcelo Bellah, after the second phase of the case transfer from the Metro Jaya Police investigators to the public prosecutor was completed on Monday, 22 June 2026.
