The Jakarta Metropolitan Police have stated that the case files for Roy Suryo and Tifauance Tyassuma, also known as Dr Tifa, regarding allegations of a fake diploma belonging to the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), have been declared complete, or P21, by the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office.

“Alhamdulillah, as of today, the prosecutors have stated that the case files we submitted to the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office no longer require any further fulfilment of the deficiencies that we previously addressed,” said the Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Kombes Iman Imanuddin, at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters on Tuesday (2/6).

Iman noted that the police will conduct the second stage of the legal process (Phase II) to the prosecutor’s office in the near future, although he could not confirm the exact timing. Following the handover, prosecutors will draft the indictment, which will lead to the trial process.

“We are currently coordinating the handover of evidence and the suspects,” Iman added.

Previously, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police confirmed that the investigation into the allegations of Jokowi’s fake diploma would proceed against five suspects: Roy Suryo, Kurnia Tri Rohyani, Rustam Effendi, Muhammad Rizal Fadillah, and Tifauziah Tyassuma, alias Dr Tifa.

“The investigation process against the other suspects will continue through to the trial stage in court,” stated Kombes Iman Imanuddin during a press conference on Friday (17/4).

Iman also noted that for the other three suspects—Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, Eggi Sudjana, and Damai Hari Lubis—the police have issued orders to cease the investigation (SP3).
