The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has officially transferred the case files of the former Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, as a suspect in the corruption case involving the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme for the 2025-2026 period.

The Head of the Legal Information Centre of the Attorney General’s Office, Anang Supriatna, stated that the transfer was carried out by investigators after the files of the two suspects were declared complete, or P-21, by the Public Prosecutor at the Central Jakarta District Attorney’s Office.

“The public prosecutor has declared the case files of the suspects complete, supported by evidence including statements from approximately 233 witnesses, testimony from four experts, as well as documentary evidence and other physical evidence,” he said during a press conference on Tuesday (29/9).

In addition to Dadan, Anang noted that the office has also transferred five other suspects to the Public Prosecutor. These include the former Deputy Head of BGN, Sony Sonjaya, and Lodewyk Pusung, along with Sony’s associate, Asep Yusuf Somantri (AYS).

Also implicated are the Chairman of the Indonesia Food Security Review Foundation, Glory Harimas Sihombing, and the Secretary of the Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation of the BGN, Brigadier General Lalu Muhammad Iwan Mahardan.

Anang stated that once the transfer of suspects and evidence, known as Phase II, is finalised, the Public Prosecutor will immediately proceed with the registration of the trial for the suspects.

Regarding the case, the Attorney General’s Office explained that the MBG programme should have been managed by the Nutrition Service and Fulfillment Unit (SPPG) foundations affiliated with recipient schools. However, in practice, many appointed SPPGs were chosen due to their affiliations with BGN officials. Furthermore, many foundations lacked the necessary requirements to serve as SPPG partners.

Additionally, there were price mark-ups in procurement, leading to losses that undermined the operational execution of the MBG programme. These include 21,801 units of electric motorcycles valued at Rp1.03 trillion, 32,000 pairs of shoes, 31,994 tablets, and 5,400 units of 75-inch televisions.
