Cartoon contest with a theme of reform

JAKARTA (JP): The Association of Indonesian Cartoonists in
cooperation with SIMA Communications public relations is
organizing a cartoon contest with a theme of reform.

Interested professional and amateur cartoonists are to send
their creations on A3-sized paper to the PR office, Jl. Tebet
Barat VIII, No 55A, Jakarta 12810. All entries must be in by Oct.
3.

The judges include art critic Jim Supangkat, cartoonist GM
Sidharta, economist Sri Mulyani Indrawati, comedian Dono and
writer Seno Gumira Ajidarma.

Winners will be announced in the Suara Pembaruan daily on Oct.
12. The first prize winner will receive Rp 2 million, second
prize, Rp 1 million and third prize, Rp 500,000. Winners of the
favorite cartoonist, critical cartoonist and talented cartoonist
categories will receive Rp 500,000 each.

Their works, along with cartoons dating back to the 1940s,
will be exhibited from Oct. 16 to Oct. 18 at Hotel Sahid Jaya,
Jl. Jend. Sudirman 86, South Jakarta.

Minister of Education and Culture Juwono Sudarsono is expected
to open the exhibition, presented by Kompas morning daily, and
Suara Pembaruan. (ylt)
