Cars with the Largest Sales Increase in April 2026

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A number of car models recorded a significant sales increase in April 2026 compared with the previous month. The rise occurred across several segments, from commercial vehicles, family MPVs, to electrified cars. Based on wholesales data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), the Toyota Kijang Innova was the model with the largest distribution volume in April 2026, at 5,981 units. The figure rose around 64 percent compared with March 2026 at 3,656 units.

The Suzuki Carry pickup also recorded a significant rise, from 2,739 units in March to 4,200 units in April 2026. In other words, its distribution rose about 53 percent.

In the family car segment, the Toyota Avanza rose from 2,366 units to 3,491 units, a growth of around 48 percent. The Toyota Calya also increased from 2,067 units to 3,076 units, up almost 49 percent.

Meanwhile, the Toyota Veloz Hybrid recorded an increase from 2,325 units to 3,262 units, or around 40 percent.

The biggest gain in the electrification segment was registered by BYD M6. The electric MPV rose from 974 units to 2,472 units in April 2026, or by about 153 percent compared with the previous month.

Apart from BYD M6, Geely EX2 also rose from 949 units to 1,042 units. BYD Sealion 7 and Denza D9 even made it into the top 20 best-selling cars in April 2026 with distributions of 1,617 units and 1,032 units respectively.

Toyota Rush also saw an increase from 2,252 units to 2,871 units, while Daihatsu Sigra rose from 1,769 units to 2,331 units.
